CultTech Association returns to ViennaUP for its third year, exploring how culture, technology, business, and academia intersect to create new opportunities in the culttech sector. From emerging business models to creative applications of technology, we'll examine how different fields influence one another and what trends are shaping the future of this evolving landscape. We will bring together artists, technologists, investors, and educators for panel discussion, research report, interactive exhibition, and networking.
The event will open with welcoming remarks and introductions from Alexey Steblev (CultTech Association), Tim Crane (Central European University), and Samanta Peña (Culttech Accelerator). Together, they will set the tone for the day, offering perspectives on how collaboration across sectors can drive innovation at the intersection of culture and technology.
Our panel discussion "Failing Forward: Lessons on Bouncing Back and Learning through Setbacks", moderated by Samanta Peña, will feature Christina Hummer (Best Nights VC), Sascha Argiro (Heartfelt VC), Andrea Marec (AccessiWay), and Jasmin Hardany (Boolee). This session will bring together seasoned investors and entrepreneurs to delve into the often-overlooked narratives and challenges of startup failures. We'll explore the common pitfalls startups encounter, the critical lessons learned, and how these experiences can pave the way for future success. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial journey from startups and investors point of view, the resilience required to overcome challenges, and strategies to navigate the complex startup ecosystem. Whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur, an investor, or simply intrigued by the startup world, this panel offers valuable insights into the realities of building and sustaining a startup.
Following the panel, Márton Karsai (Central European University) will present findings from the report on "Education in Culture and Technology: Actual Practice and Perspectives" exploring the current landscape of culttech in education and its future directions.
To round things up, Karin Gutmaher (Artivive) will share the story behind Artivive’s development — from an idea at the intersection of art and technology to a platform now used by artists and institutions around the world.
The day will conclude with a networking reception featuring drinks and snacks, providing an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow participants and continue discussions in a relaxed atmosphere.
